OKLAHOMA LANE CEMETERY HISTORY
The 1935, Board of Trustees of the Oklahoma Lane Independent School District of Parmer County, Texas consisted of seven members:
J. I. Gober, Clyde Perkins, E. A. Hromas, R. Christian, F. E. Kepley, R. Lloyd Neeley, and R. S. (illegible.)
When the Oklahoma Lane School consolidated with Farwell I.S.D., Harold Carpenter took over the record keeping and up-keep of the Oklahoma Lane Cemetery.
Persons elected to serve on the Board of Directors for the Oklahoma Lane Cemetery were the following:
Harold Carpenter, Hoyet Brown, Vernon Symcox, Bryon Durham, and (unknown).
1988: The Board of Director was reduced to three members:
Harold Carpenter, Hoyet Brown, and Vernon Symcox.

Harold Carpenter, Richard Carpenter, Byron Durham, Hoyet Brown, Ruth Ann Ruth (Blankenship) Bennett.

Harold Carpenter, Richard Carpenter, Hoyet Brown, Ruth Ann Ruth (Blankenship) Bennett and Pam (Mayfield) Norton.

2009: The Board of Directors consist of five board members:
Ruth Ann (Blankenship) Bennett, Richard Carpenter, Tommie (Smallwood) Fulcher, Pam (Mayfield) Norton, and Kenny White.
Tommie (Smallwood) Fulcher – recorder and treasurer, and Kenny White replacing Harold Carpenter and Hoyet Brown) (retired)

2014: Mark White was elected to the Board of Directors to replace Ruth Ann ((Blankenship) Bennett (retired)).
2016: The Board of Directors Members will be elected every four years.
2020: All Board members were re-elected:
Tommie (Smallwood) Fulcher – recorder and treasurer, Richard Carpenter, Pam (Mayfield) Norton, Kenny White, and Mark White.
The next election will be held at the Annual Meeting May, 2024.
2023: Jessica White elected to recorder and treasurer. Tommie Fulcher moves down to regular Board member.
2024: Jessica White was not aware of Board members needing to be voted on. So, there was no vote. Vote will be brought up at the 2025 Annual Meeting in May.
Motion was granted by Ken Foster and Seconded by Pam Norton for $1000 to be spent on a website for the cemetery showing all plots and their availability and the information on plots that are occupied.
Vick Christian volunteered to buy new flag pole at the cemetery. Carl Hahn volunteered to buy 2 new flags. Oklahoma Lane Cemetery will purchase said items and send an invoice for repayment.
Annual Cemetery Work Day:
Each Memorial Day starting at 9:00 a.m., until the cleaning is completed. Annual Meeting is held at 10:00 a.m., everyone is welcome.
